Hospital Indemnity

Hospital indemnity insurance

Hospital indemnity insurance is one of three voluntary benefits available for you to purchase to supplement your medical plan. These provide you with additional protection against unexpected costly events affecting your health. The other two voluntary benefits that supplement your medical coverage are accident insurance and critical illness insurance.

Hospital indemnity insurance provides a hedge against the financial burden of a hospital stay. It pays a fixed, lump-sum daily benefit to help cover expenses resulting from a covered hospitalization. The benefit is paid directly to you and can be used to assist with medical bills or any other expenses you may have incurred while you were hospitalized.

The benefit schedule specifies payment amounts for events, such as hospital admission ($1,000 up to two times per year) and daily room and board ($150 per day). Learn more.
