New Hires
Welcome to AI Fire
You have the opportunity to choose many of your employee benefits:
- When you are first hired (or first become a benefits-eligible full-time employee), you have 30 days to choose your benefits for the current year. Your benefits become effective the first of the month following 30 days from the date you are hired (or first become eligible).
- Each year, there is an annual Open Enrollment period when you may choose your benefits for the following year. You will receive more information when that time comes near.
If you don’t enroll by the deadline…
If you do not take action and enroll by the deadline you are given (either as a new hire or during the annual Open Enrollment period), you will not have Medical, Dental or Vision coverage, or many other benefits the company offers.
You will only have a few company-paid benefits that are provided, such as:
- Basic Life/AD&D
- Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability Insurance
Your next opportunity to enroll for most benefits will not take place until the next annual Open Enrollment period, for the following year (unless you experience a qualified life event that allows you to enroll, like getting married or having a baby).
How to Enroll
First, become familiar with your benefits options. Start with the “Benefits at a Glance” overview provided for a convenient summary of your benefits, including rates you pay for Medical, Dental and Vision coverage. Follow the links for more information.
When you know the benefits you want, you are ready to enroll.
Enrollment Instructions for New Hires
- Enroll in your benefits online via Dayforce from a web browser (e.g., Chrome, FireFox), or by phone using the Dayforce app.
- Enroll in or Waive each coverage option.
- Review and complete your Beneficiary designations for the employer-paid Basic Life and AD&D.
- Choose Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
- Remember that if you want Voluntary Life / AD&D insurance you must select it during Open Enrollment.
REMINDER: What happens if you don’t enroll?
If you do not take action and enroll in Medical, Dental and Vision coverage, you will not have any Medical, Dental or Vision coverage for the year.
Per IRS rules, you can only make changes to your benefits during an annual Open Enrollment period, or if you experience a qualified life event, which is a qualifying change in your situation like getting married, having a baby, or losing health coverage. If you experience one of these events, you have 30 days from the date of the event to submit a Life Event Declaration Form in DayForce.
